In first half action, the Tribe dominated possession and was poised to take an early advantage courtesy of multiple scoring opportunities.  Senior Cortlyn Bristol's look in the 27th minute was destined for the net, but the Chantilly, Va., native's rocket off her left foot hit the far post.  Old Dominion's backline withstood until the Green and Gold opened its scoring onslaught in the 34th minute.  From six yards away, sophomore Emory Camper shelved junior Ali Heck's cross from the right side, giving W&M the 1-0 lead.  At halftime, the Tribe owned the advantage in shots, 13-1, and corner kicks, 5-1.

In the 63rd minute, junior Dani Rutter extended the College's lead to 2-0 after the York, Pa., native blasted home her sixth goal of the year.  Bristol took the initial shot that was saved back into the field of play, while Rutter was there to punch in the rebound.  The assist was Bristol's team-high 13th of the season.  Rutter put the match out of reach with her second goal of the night in the 74th minute.  This time, senior Mallory Schaffer placed a perfectly placed through ball to a streaking Rutter, who proceeded to crank home the Tribe's third score of the night on a breakaway.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary women's soccer team defeated Hofstra, 3-2 in double-overtime on Sunday afternoon from Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.  On senior day, it was only fitting that seniors Cortlyn Bristol and Mallory Schaffer lifted the Tribe past the Pride.  Bristol connected on the game-winning goal in the 106th minute, while Schaffer sent the contest to overtime with the equalizer in the 87th minute of regulation.  The win improves the College's record to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in CAA play, while Hofstra falls to 10-7 on the year and 6-3 in league action.  Additionally, the Green and Gold clinched a first-round bye in the upcoming CAA Tournament.

Hofstra opened the scoring on Sunday afternoon with a goal in the 20th minute.  Pride freshman Jeannine Molleda went unassisted and sent a high shot that was initially thwarted up in the air by W&M freshman keeper Caroline Casey.  However, the bounce went the Pride's way as the ball trickled in to the right netting of goal.  Moment's after the Pride took the early lead, an HU defender was whistled for a red card, which gave the Tribe "a man up" advantage for the remainder of the afternoon.

Sophomore Emory Camper knotted the match up at 1-1 courtesy of her third score of the season in the 35th minute.  Bristol initialized the opportunity, as the Chanitlly, Va., native sent a cross from the left side to Camper, who proceeded to punch home the goal from six yards away.  The half ended with W&M owning the edge in shots, 9-6, and Hofstra holding the advantage in shots on goal, 4-2.

In the 59th minute, Hofstra went ahead 2-1 after junior Brittnay Farriella tapped in freshman Leah Galton's original attempt from inside the six on a shot that was saved but not controlled by W&M.  With the match drawing towards a close, and with Hofstra still leading, Schaffer gave the College life again after the reigning CAA Player of the Year blasted home the equalizer in the 87th minute.  At midfield.  sophomore Emily Fredrikson sent a pass to freshman Nicole Baxter, who then placed a perfectly placed through ball to Schaffer.  From that point, the Allison Park, Pa., native shelved her 10th goal of the season into the lower right netting of goal.

After the opening 10 minutes of overtime yielded no score, the Green and Gold took over in the second extra minute period.  From the start, W&M dominated possession and in the 106th minute, the Tribe broke through with the game-winning goal.  From eight yards away and on the right side, Bristol cranked home the game-winner off her left foot on a one-timed bounce from Camper's deflected attempt on goal.

Statistically, the Tribe dominated in shots, 20-9 and corner kicks, 7-2.  Hofstra finished the afternoon with seven shots on goal compared to the Tribe's six.

The College returns to action on Wednesday night, as it closes regular-season play hosting Old Dominion in a match slated to begin at 7 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The William and Mary women's soccer team dropped a tightly contested Colonial Athletic Association match at Drexel, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon from Vidas Field.  In the opening 70 minutes of play, both squads battled for possession and launched attack after attack, until the Dragons netted the game-winner in the 72nd minute.  The setback drops the Tribe to 11-5 overall and 5-2 in CAA action, while Drexel improves to 11-3-2 on the year and 5-2-1 in league play.

NEWARK, Del. - The William and Mary women's soccer team fell at Delaware, 1-0, on Friday night from Delaware Mini-Stadium.  After a scoreless opening half, in which the Tribe generated multiple dangerous opportunities, the Blue Hens connected on the game-winner in the 51st minute.  For the night, the College held a decisive edge in shots, 18-10, but was unable to get on the scoreboard.  With the loss, the Tribe falls to 11-4 overall and 5-1 in CAA play, while Delaware improves to 8-6 on the year and 5-2 in league action.

"We didn't have our best tonight," stated head coach John Daly. "Our first half performance was poor as we didn't connect our passes nearly enough to our capability or expectations.  We improved in the second half, but poor defending gave them a chance, which they took. We stepped things up and pressured them for the last 15 minutes. Had we fought that hard early we would have done better. Overall, it was a very disappointing performance and we need to pick things up significantly for Sunday."

Within the first 20 minutes of play, the Tribe's attack was on the verge of scoring on more than one occasion.  Junior Dani Rutter put W&M's first attempt on frame in the 18th minute, but the York, Pa., native was turned away by UD's Jess Figueroa.  Moments later, junior Ali Heck cranked another attempt on goal, but Figueroa made another quality stop.  With time winding down in the first stanza, senior Cortlyn Bristol looked to break the stalemate however, the Chantilly, Va., native's fourth attempt of the half resulted in a save.  In the opening 45 minutes, the Green and Gold outshot the Blue Hens, 12-6, but UD owned a slight edge in shots on goal, 5-4.

In second-half action, Delaware broke the deadlock after Chelsea Duff's shot from 22 yards away via the middle of the pitch, slipped into the upper right netting of goal.  Thereafter, W&M staged multiple attacks on the Blue Hens frame with its best look coming courtesy of sophomore Emory Camper.  Once again Figueroa, who finished the contest with eight saves, turned away the Virginia Beach, Va., native's equalizing attempt in the 78th minute.
