NVSC becomes the fourth youth soccer partner of D.C. United

Washington, D.C. (April 18, 2013) – D.C. United and Northern Virginia Soccer Club (NVSC) – in conjunction with adidas – today announced an affiliate agreement, the fourth of its kind for D.C. United and a youth soccer club. Under the agreement, NVSC will be one of D.C. United’s primary sources in identifying and developing the top youth talent. United will share its coaching resources and will work with NVSC to follow its training curriculum and system of play. Top players in the NVSC system, identified by both D.C. United and NVSC, will have the opportunity to join the D.C. United Academy teams, with a strong priority being placed on the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 age groups.

“We are thrilled that NVSC will join us as our fourth affiliate club,” said Sonny Silooy, D.C. United’s Director of Youth Development. “We have been working with several players that came from NVSC, and we are happy with their progression. The D.C. United Academy looks forward to assisting with their plan for club and player development, in addition to strengthening our relationship with NVSC through this mutually beneficial partnership.”

NVSC 2011 Battlefield Tournament anounces accepted teams

The 2011 version of the NVSC Battlefield Tournament will take place October 8th and 9th. The official list of accepted teams was released yesterday and can be seen on their tournament website.

NVSC names Bill Lanza TDOC

The Northern Virginia Soccer Club is pleased to announce Bill Lanza as the NVSC Technical Director of Coaching (TDOC). Bill brings to NVSC a unique combination of local, state, and national-level soccer experience to the club. Bill has been a member of the Northern Virginia soccer community for over 27 years, both as a player and as a trainer/coach. Bill played High School and Club soccer in Prince William County.

Well even though the 2010 Spring Soccer Season is wrapping up here in Northern Virginia and families are making their summer plans, its already time to think about the 2010 Fall Soccer Season. For many players that means tryouts. Some players will be returning travel players who have played for many years and others will be hoping to join the wonderful, busy, competitive, and sometimes downright crazy world that is Travel Soccer.
