NVSC names Bill Lanza TDOC

NVSC Press Release:

The Northern Virginia Soccer Club is pleased to announce Bill Lanza as the NVSC Technical Director of Coaching (TDOC). Bill brings to NVSC a unique combination of local, state, and national-level soccer experience to the club. Bill has been a member of the Northern Virginia soccer community for over 27 years, both as a player and as a trainer/coach. Bill played High School and Club soccer in Prince William County.

Following high school, he went on to play college soccer for both the University of Notre Dame and the University of Virginia. As a result of his college play, Bill was selected to play on United States National Teams (U18, U20, and U23), which served to both expand his playing experie nce and to gain exposure to national level training methodologies. Most recently, Bill has coached and trained Club level teams in Northern Virginia playing in ODSL, WAGS and NCSL. As the NVSC TDOC, Bill will be responsible for enhancing the NVSC coach and player development by institutionizing training programs and soccer processes within the Club.
Bill is coming to NVSC as the full-time, NVSC TDOC, starting May1st. Our initial priorities for Bill include meetings and training clinics with the recreational and travel coaches. In addition, Bill will concentrate on getting out to see the program first hand, visiting Ben Lomond, Hellwig, and Valley View during games to help prioritize and focus training programs for the Club. Bill's wealth of playing and coaching experience will be available for all NVSC members to draw upon as we move forward with additional opportunities for the players and coaches.
