United fall to Dutch powerhouse AJAX 2-1

Washington, D.C. - In a mid-season international friendly at RFK, D.C. United played host to Dutch football champions Ajax.

Although D.C. forward Blake Brettschneider was able to score a goal for the Black and Red, United fell 2-1 to the Dutch powerhouse on a late goal.

Head Coach Ben Olsen said after the match, On friendly experiences and being exposed to big teams:


"I’ve always loved [international friendlies]. I always had illusions of grandeur and thought they were going to buy me for millions of dollars (laughs) if I scored enough goals."
