Tech hires new assistant coach

From HokieSports.com:

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech athletics department and women’s soccer head coach Chugger Adair have announced the hiring of new assistant coach Pete Pososki. Pososki joins the Tech staff after spending the last six seasons as an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania.

“Pete brings a tremendous level of experience, knowledge and success to our soccer program,” Coach Adair said on the hiring. “Pete will serve as the recruiting coordinator and lead scout, while assisting with overall player development. He will also be responsible for helping to organize the backline. He will be able to step right in and continue recruiting high-level, ACC caliber student-athletes.

“With Pete’s strong background and work ethic he will be an important member of our team and help VT women’s soccer continue its recent run of success in the ACC and NCAA tournaments.”

Pososki’s duties with the Quakers were similar to those which he will take on at Tech, as he was in charge of organizing team training sessions and very involved in recruiting, while also serving as the assistant camps director.

During Pososki’s tenure, Penn won a pair of Ivy League championships, appeared in the NCAA Tournament, compiled an overall record of 56-32-14 and never had a losing season.

Pososki has coached at both the collegiate and youth level. Prior to his stint at Penn, he worked at Northern Illinois where he served as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and camp director. Pososki was also a volunteer assistant coach at Eastern Michigan from 2001-03. At the youth level, he was an evaluator and staff coach for the Michigan Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the head coach of the Novi Jaguars Soccer Club. He was also a member of the coaching staff at the Eastern Michigan Soccer Camp for five years.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Pososki earned three varsity letters as a center and outside back at Eastern Michigan University before the sport’s elimination. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from EMU in 2003.

Pososki holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “B” license.
