Liberty Men's Soccer Announce 2011 Spring Schedule

The Liberty men's soccer team has announced its 2011 Spring schedule. The Flames will have five spring contests in preparation for the upcoming 2011 season. Highlighting the schedule is a match with Virginia on April 9.

Besides the Cavaliers, the Flames will face several opponents who are expected to challenge for their respective conference titles next fall. Liberty will host Big South opponent VMI at Osborne Stadium in its lone home contest of the spring on March 24 at 7 p.m.

"We are excited about our spring schedule," stated Liberty men's soccer head coach Jeff Alder. "This schedule will stretch our guys and allow us to play against some different styles of soccer.

"It is important for us to continue to build confidence and mental toughness as a group and individuals. Playing four road games under tough conditions will allow our group to grow and mature this spring."

The Flames posted their fourth consecutive season with 10 or more victories in 2010. Liberty compiled a 10-7-1 record and finished the year ranked 21st in the country in scoring offense with a 1.94 goals per game average.
