Four Cavaliers Named to All-ACC Academic Women’s Soccer Team



CHARLOTTESVILLEFour members of the Virginia women’s soccer team were named to the 2010 All-ACC Academic Women’s Soccer Team, announced Thursday by the conference. Senior midfielder Colleen Flanagan (Downingtown, Pa.), junior defender Maggie Kistner (St. Louis, Mo.), senior forward Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) and sophomore defender Morgan Stith (Montclair, N.J.) were honored for their work in the classroom and on the field.

Flanagan, a sociology major, started all 22 games this season and recorded one goal and two assists. Kistner, a psychology major, started 19 games and scored one goal from her central defender position. Lenczyk, a psychology major, started all 22 games this season and had 12 goals and six assists. Her 30 points ranked second on the team as she earned second-team All-ACC honors. Stith started 20 games and led all Virginia field players with 1,769 minutes played.

It was the second consecutive year that Flanagan, Lenczyk and Stith were named to the team, while Kistner was honored for the first time.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
