Robbie Rogers interviews with ABC News Nightline

In February former USMNT player Robbie Rogers announced via his blog (http://robbiehrogers.com/blog/2013/2/23/the-next-chapter) that he was gay and would be leaving soccer.

Professional soccer player Robbie Rogers sat down with ABC News correspondent Amy Robach to discuss being gay in professional sports. The interview will air on ABC News’ “Nightline” Monday evening, April 15.

A former member of the U.S. National team and professional player in England, Rogers allowed “Nightline” to travel with him as he saw his family for the first time since coming out earlier this year. Although Rogers has retired, a return to the field in the U.S. would make him the only openly gay player in any major league sport. Media organizations using any portion of the interview clip must credit ABC News “Nightline”.
