AmeriCorps Works for DC: Cory Chimka

via Serve DC:

Cory Chimka, Program Director for DC SCORES, explains how AmeriCorps members have been critical to DC SCORES' success and what AmeriCorps members can glean from working with DC SCORES. DC SCORES is the largest after-school program in the District of Columbia. They serve more than 1,450 low-income youth at 42 schools, improving physical fitness, developing self-expression, and establishing deep community connections through an innovative model that combines poetry, soccer, and service-learning.
