UMW Women's Soccer Lose to Salisbury in CAC Semifinals, 1-0


The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Salisbury University on Thursday in the Capital Athletic Conference semifinals. UMW falls to 13-2-3 on the season.

Salisbury scored the game's only goal in the 43rd minute, as Jamie Hovendon scored her first goal of the season on a Tabitha Brown assist. The Sea Gulls led in shots, 29-11, as well as in corner kicks, 7-2.

Sophomore goalkeeper Charlotte Owens had 13 saves in net for Mary Washington, while Michelle Conrad had eight for Salisbury.


UMW must now await a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, to be announced on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
