Soccer Drops Preseason Opener at Notre Dame 2-0
Cavaliers host Georgetown in
preseason finale on Sunday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Virginia women’s soccer team opened its 2012 schedule with
a 2-0 exhibition loss on a rainy, windy Friday afternoon at the Notre Dame
Practice Field. It marked the eighth consecutive year the teams have met in the
preseason.
The Fighting Irish got an unassisted goal from Lauren Bohaboy in the 35th minute and Crystal Thomas scored off an assist from Brittany Von Rueden in the 81st minute.

Each team had 11 shots in the game, while Virginia had a 6-4
corner kick advantage. Goalkeepers Danielle DeLisle (Baltimore, Md.) and
Churchill O’Connell (McLean, Va.) each made two saves in 45 minutes of action
for Virginia.
The Cavaliers conclude their preseason schedule on Sunday as they host
Georgetown. Game time at Klöckner Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
