LONGWOOD FALLS TO WILLIAM AND MARY 3-1 IN EXHIBITION
FARMVILLE, Va. -- The
Longwood men’s soccer team dropped a 3-1 exhibition contest to William
and Mary of the Colonial Athletic Association on Monday evening at the
Athletics Complex in Farmville. The Lancers’ lone goal came in the 61st
minute of play when senior Patrick McDaniel|Midlothian (Cosby) found sophomore Anthony Ugorji|Washington, D.C. (Archbishop Carroll) at the top of the box allowing Ugorji to dribble past the goalkeeper for the score. Sophomore goalkeeper Paul Hegedus|Ashburn (Broad Run) took the decision in net for LU, while freshmen goalkeepers Carl Carpenter|Charlottesville (St. Anne's Belfield) and Seth Erdman|Hummelstown, Pa. (Lower Dauphin) also
saw time. Longwood is scheduled to travel to Virginia Wesleyan on
Tuesday, August 21 for its final exhibition match of the preseason at 7
p.m.
