Three Virginia players reach top 50 of Inspireum Soccer Awards

Three soccer players from Virginia have been named semifinalists of the Inspireum Soccer Awards. Tyler Hobbs (Chesapeake), Christian Metzler (Woodbridge), and Gaela Normile (Virginia Beach) are hoping to win the $25,000 in scholarships.

The list of 50 semifinalists will be narrowed down to 12 finalists on December 13th by the National Selection Committee that includes coaches April Heinrichs and Jurgen Klinsmann.

The Inspireum Soccer Awards celebrate outstanding young athletes, not because of their statistical performance, but because of their ability both on and off the soccer field to inspire teammates, classmates, families and communities. This year we will discover, amplify, and celebrate hundreds of soccer players nationwide who display great character, courage, contribution and commitment. Players are nominated by coaches, parents, teammates, and friends for this prestigious award.
