McLean player selected for U.S. Soccer Academy Showcase Select Game

McLean Youth Soccer player Arie Ammann has been selected to play in the U.S. Soccer 2011 Development Academy Winter Showcase and Nike International Friendlies . The Academy Winter Showcase is for the top players in the Academy Program and an opportunity for the national coaching staff to watch the players closer.

Ammann is the son of former MLS All-Star goalkeeper Mike Ammann. The elder Ammann is the president of the northern Virginia based Twenty-Four Seven Goalkeeper Academy.

The selection to the showcase for the second generation goalkeeper comes after previous trials stints with  English clubs Spurs and Brighton this past summer.
