Hurricane Irene causes United to postpone Portland match, Latin Festival

Well mother nature proved to be no match for D.C. United, at least not this Saturday with Hurricane Irene set to take aim on the East Coast.

After having already pushing the start time up to 2 p.m. for the match agianst Portland and postponing their sixth annual Latin Festival D.C. United announced it has completely postponed their next game.

Citing general public safety concerns because of the anticipated impact of Hurricane Irene, Major League Soccer has postponed the game between D.C. United and the Portland Timbers, previously scheduled for tomorrow at RFK Stadium.

The game will be rescheduled and the new date and time announced next week. Tickets from Saturday’s contest will be valid on the make-up date.
