United can't overcome Lenhart's hat trick - Fall 4-2 to Earthquakes

Washington, D.C- Andy Najar got D.C. United on the scoreboard first on Andy Najar bobblehead night as United hosted San Jose Saturday night at RFK. There would be very little for the Black and Red faithful to cheer for the rest of the match however.

The young back line of United continued to show growing pains from the first whistle. A hat trick from Earthquake forward Steven Lenhart, who had only scored one gaol the entire season, did in D.C. United as the team was looking to get three points from the match up.

Head Coach Ben Olsen:

"It was very disappointing; we looked like young kids. This is going to happen, we have always said that we are going to have games when young kids make mistakes – that I can live with. But the lack of commitment at times was unacceptable. I think we started reading our own press a little bit, everybody thought we were on a roll, so now we don’t have to do what got us a little success – and it’s a little success. We are in the middle of the table if you take this whole league."

Olsen will be looking to get United back on track against Real Salt Lake June 18th. Both RSL and United are currently in 5th place in their respective divisions.
