Piranhas drop 3-0 decision to the Carolina Dynamo

Greensboro, North Carolina – The PDL Piranhas dropped a 3-0 decision to the Carolina Dynamo Saturday night at McPherson Stadium but the match played on the pitch was much closer than the final score. Two outstanding Carolina saves on Piranhas’ shots, a shot that hit the goalpost and a missed call by the officials are not reflected in the final score. Carolina only outshot the Red and White 13-12 and saves were even at 3-3. The Piranhas simply couldn’t find the back of the net.

The PDL Piranhas will return home on June 4 to take on Fredericksburg. This will be the second meeting of the two teams; they met on opening day and the Piranhas outplayed the Hotspur and came away with a 2-0 shutout on goals by Amir Shihata and Marcello Alves.
June 4th is Fredericksburg doubleheader night at the Sportsplex. At 5:30 p.m. the W League Piranhas will host the Impact followed by the men’s match against the Hotspur at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the gate and include both games.
