Norfolk Sharx and Virginia Beach Piranhas partner with Ronald McDonald House charities

Virginia Beach, Virginia - The Norfolk SharX and Virginia Beach Piranhas soccer teams are pleased to announce their partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Norfolk, Virginia. The alliance was forged to help RMHC bring attention to all that they do.


"Ronald McDonald House Charities provides an essential element in the recovery of sick children. By providing housing and a safe haven for the family, they in turn support the recovery of every child that needs their family near them while they fight to regain a healthy body and a happy mind," said SharX and Piranhas' President Marcie Laumann.

"When I was a child I spent a great deal of time in the hospital," she continued. "I was always blessed to have my family near me. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for families who have to be apart during these times. We are proud to support Ronald McDonald House and their untiring effort to provide these services to families."

The partnership consists of two complimentary $10,000 sponsorships, one from the SharX and one from the Piranhas that will allow RMHC to do advertising at all home games and in team promotional materials, to have fundraising opportunities for their Charities and to supply season and game tickets to all children and their families who use Ronald McDonald House.
"Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk could not provide this tremendous service without the support of organizations like the Piranhas and SharX," said RMHC Executive Director Elyse Brown. "People recognize the name Ronald McDonald House Charities, but do not realize there is a House right here in Hampton Roads. Our partnership with the Piranhas and SharX offers us a unique opportunity to share our story with the community and let them know how we are helping families with critically ill children."
