The UVA women's soccer team earned a top eight national seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament and will host first and second round action this weekend at Klockner Stadium.
The Wahoos are one of eight ACC teams in the NCAA Tournament field.
The Cavaliers (13-4-2) will play Patriot League champion Lehigh (11-4-4) Friday night at 5:00. The Mountain Hawks are making their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
Virginia will make its 17th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, third longest streak in the country behind North Carolina and Notre Dame. The 'Hoos will host for the 13th time in 17 seasons.
UVA head women's soccer coach Steve Swanson said, "I think we're obviously very excited to be home. I think it's a testament to the team and the season that we've had to get a two seed."
UVA senior Sinead Farrelly said, "We have done so well, so I think we're expecting a high seed. I think we're just taking it that we're lucky that we get home seed until the Elite 8, and you never know what happens, we could get it for farther. One of our goals has always been not to lose at home, and we still have that now, so everyone's just really excited."
UVA lost in the third round last season.
UNC Greensboro (19-1-1) and South Carolina (14-5-4) will play Friday night at 7:30. The winners of Friday night's game will play in the second round at Klockner Stadium Sunday afternoon at 2:00.

The CAA Tournament champion JMU women's soccer team will play Texas (11-5-4) Friday in the first round in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Dukes (14-6-1) are on an eight-match unbeaten streak. JMU will play in the NCAA Tournament for the tenth time in the past 16 seasons.
