League newcomers Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the Portland Timbers will make August appearances while Eastern Conference rivals the Chicago Fire and Sporting Kansas City close out the season in October.
The Black-and-Red will be featured six times on national television, highlighted by ESPN2 appearances against the Red Bulls April 21, at the Fire on August 18 and at the Philadelphia Union on September 29. Spanish language partners Telefutura and Galavision will air United games at Colorado April 3, against the Houston Dynamo June 25 and at Sporting Kansas City August 21, respectively. Additional regional television plans will be announced at a later date.
D.C. United’s full playing calendar will include competitions in other domestic and international events. Dates and times will be announced as games are set.
